  • Would you consider yourself a forgetful person or are you good at remembering things?
  • Do you do anything to help you remember important things like tests and events?
  • What is the most common thing you forget when leaving your house? (mask, phone, etc)

The Bible

In Proverbs 3, Solomon writes some life principles that we need to not forget.

My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity. – Proverbs 3:1-2

Why do you think he begins by saying “do not forget?”

What do you think it means to keep commands “in your heart?”

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. – Proverbs 3:3-4

What does it mean to let love “never leave you?”

Are there some people that you find it hard to not let love leave you?

Who comes to mind when you think of having a “good name?”  What about them makes you think that way?

Have you ever thought about the importance of having a “good name?”  Why is it so important?

Have you ever lost favor with someone? What was that like?

How can you develop a good name and favor with:

  • Teachers
  • Parents
  • Siblings
  • Bosses
  • PJ

We are naturally kind to friends and people that are kind to us. Why are some people not easy to be kind to?   How can we remember to always be kind even when it isn’t natural for us?

What would it be like if before you entered a room you thought, “I am going to be kind in this room?”
